Judd and Pollack at the SFMOMA

So it was a bad art day for me I guess. I was really disappointed with the MOMA and the admission had been $12! Their top floor was closed, the fourth floor had a lame video exhibit that was like a boring rehash of the Getty Cali Video show, the third floor was all landscape photos and architectural schematics (Snoozefest), and the second floor, pieces from their permanent collection, was ok, but badly placed. They had a single Flavin which was just one of his diagonal light banks (by a window, no less) and their Judd was crammed in the corner, you couldn't even appreciate it's depth. It's like it was amateur day at the museum. But like I said, a bad art day, so I was just sneering at everything.
The saving grace though, was an early Pollack: Guardians of the Secret. I've never seen such an amazing work by him. Of special note, the coyote on the bottom....
