A Dozen Vintners

An unexpected stop at Larkmead, to check out some of the small production lots they do out there. I've had a brief intro to them through Christian, but this was the grand tour. Great great stuff.
Then, a fun, quick tasting over at A Dozen Vintners, a cooperative up in St. Helena. Best on the original flight was the Stagecoach Vineyard Black Bart Syrah with (Hooray!) some viognier blended in. Wow does that make a little floral great, balance and contrapose for the Syrah. Well done.
As a special treat, Tim pulled some of his own cabs from under the counter, an 04 Bordeaux blend, about 86% cab, and his 05, I believe 100% Cab of Howell Mountain fruit from the Blue Hall vineyard. Definitely yummy stuff, his 04, a hell of a deal at around $45.
This picture is some rusting corregated steel. Some of my favorite medium, just look how beautiful.
